Megan Lubetkin
"We were directly above the mid-Atlantic ridge! "
Megan's sail route was from the Canary Islands off the north coast of Africa all the way west to the Caribbean. During her journey, Megan was accompanied by scientists, historians, voyagers, and a few other students who also love the ocean and our blue planet.
These images document Megan with the planet above a chart for the region she was sailing in and one of just the planet above the chart. The other photo is of Megan tossing the planet over the side of the ship.

I moved to Vilseck Germany in March 2014 to welcome home my fiance, Doug, who had been deployed in Afghanistan. We have been living in Vilseck ever since and it has become a very special place for both of us. Part of the charm of the town comes from the farm fields that surround it. I hid the globe in my favorite field in September 2014. I did manage to hide it where the plows wouldn't get to it next spring in hopes that it will stay in this special place for a long time to come!
